Nashville Youth PULSE

Nashville Youth PULSE (People United Leading and Serving Everywhere) is a youth service organization comprised of hundreds of teenage (13-18) volunteers from Nashville and the surrounding areas. Founded by a group of youth and adults in 1997, PULSE is committed to promoting youth leadership of service and civic initiatives. Programs include: Action Teams -- five-week service experiences through which small groups of dedicated teen volunteers work with one another to address a specific social issue through service and reflection; Flexible Volunteer Opportunities -- a series of 20-30 monthly volunteer projects of several hours each that benefit various causes and nonprofit organizations throughout Nashville; PULSE Day -- an assembly of over 1,000 youth volunteers on a Saturday in April to contribute 3-4 hours at more than fifty sites around the city; and Issue Events -- one-day programs including over a hundred teens that strive to educate youth about a certain issue and direct their efforts to contribute.
