Economic Literacy is a program that provides girls with the skills and self-confidence they need to contribute to the economy and make strong, smart and bold decisions about their financial futures. Girls learn how to budget, save, take informed financial risks, and avoid feeling intimidated about money. "She's on the Money!" is a component for girls age 6-8. "She's on the Money!" teaches girls to recognize various denominations of paper and coin money and encourages girls to consider the pros and cons of spending now versus spending later. "Dollars, Sense, and Me" is a component for girls ages 9-11 that teaches girls about different money transaction instruments and helps girls develop skills for managing money. "Equal Earners, Savvy Spenders" is a component for girls ages 12-14 that allows girls to practice setting short- and long-term financial goals, explores the risks and returns of investing, and encourages girls to consider their role in the global economy. |
