Mayor's Mentors & More

Mayor Rick Baker and the City of St. Petersburg joined in partnership with Pinellas Schools and the Pinellas County Education Foundation to support the education system through the Mayor's Mentors & More Initiative. Programs include: St. Pete Reads - city employees tutor students after school at Recreation Centers; Community Corporate Volunteer Program - employees and volunteers tutor and mentor students onsite in the public schools; Born to Read/Baby Steps reading programs through the library system; recycling education with Mr. Sparkle in schools; and environmental education programs at Boyd Hill Nature Park, Sunken Gardens and Pioneer Settlement.
